Sharing heartbeats

-

NEW research has found people unconsciously synchronise bodily functions such as their heartbeat and breathing when they share an experience, such as a live performance or a conversation.

According to a new study, the synchronisation happens when people pay attention to the story, with the research showing participants matched heartbeats even when watching bland educational videos.

The researchers said when people were listening attentively, their hearts responded to signals from their brain.
