A BRAIN-EATING GOOD TIME FOR A CAUSE

- FLOSS ADAMS

DARWIN’S very own version of The Walking Dead played out on Saturday evening as brain-eating zombies lurked around the CBD.

Autism NT had their own crew of zombies attending the event, organised by Mad Snake Cafe, complete with horror fashion and brain-eating styles.

Hair Oracle owner and event sponsor Joe-Joe Summerhill said the event was hilarious, ridiculous and gorgeous and she was excited to style the zombies.

“We put face paint on them and whatever they want or what they are comfortable with,” Ms Summerhill said.

“To be in a secure group where they feel safe, it will just be gorgeous.”

Autism NT active hub facilitator Jamie Markwell said the active hub program was a key supporter in mentoring programs for young autistic adults.

“It’s about being involved in the community and getting involved in different events that they might not have the courage to get involved in on their own,” Mr Markwell said.
