THIS new star-studded Aussie drama is – pardon the pun – a real slow burner. With its muted colours and long, languid shots of the dry landscape, the deliberately gentle pace of this opening episode gives you a good sense of the claustrophobic heat of the Australian summer. Sharp Objects standout Eliza Scanlen (pictured) is volunteer firefighter Tash, who is grappling with her growing feelings for fellow recruit Mott (Hunter PageLochard). A call-out to attend their first blaze puts the newbies directly in the line of fire.
