FOOD FOR THOUGHT

OL’ mate who had his tendons tenderised by a crocodile last week was sitting pretty after winning a meat tray from Katie Woolf. Good to know that Sean Dealy, who gave crocs free meat, won some of his own. Truly the circle of life.

SAY IT AGAIN AGAIN

LAST week Health Minister Natasha Fyles said at a press conference the phrase “ED department”. This follows on from Ms Fyles saying in Question Time a couple of weeks ago that NT hospitals were a “systematic system”. Bushie is sure Ms Fyles, who is also the Tourism Minister, wants tourists to spend cash money in the Territory by using her PIN number to withdraw from an ATM machine.

ELECTRIC CARS IN THE SLOW LANE

THE Territory’s first lithium mine is open for business and will soon be supplying the precious mineral for use in Tesla and hybrid vehicle batteries. But it turns out Territorians still need more convincing of the benefits of buying an emissions-free Tesla. There are only 30 on Territory roads – nine in Alice Springs and 21 in Darwin.

LEADERSHIP VACUUM

BUSHRANGER has noted Chief Minister Michael Gunner and Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro took a spot of leave last week, much to the frustration of the NT political press pack. Mr Gunner is understood to have jetted off to Toowoomba, while Ms Finocchiaro holidayed locally, spending a week in the Red Centre.

ON THE BRINKIN

PREDICTABLY, Bushie has been sent a picture of what Darwinites get up to when they have too much white-out. They’ve modified the sign for Brinkin to say Drinkin.

YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME

ONLY in the Northern Territory would a witness in a murder trial refer to a barrister as a “mate”. That happened during the Hoffmann trial.

BRAVE POLICY STANCE DEPUTY Opposition Leader and

stereotypical bloke-who-calls-his-kidsfor-help-using-his-iPad Gerard Maley took a brave stance in the middle of a debate about vaccinations, proclaiming to Katie Woolf that the CLP was not “anti-fracking”. Powerful, but Bushie suspects he meant the CLP was not anti-vaccination.
