Five far-fetched storylines in daytime soaps

DaysOfOurLives (Binge): Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was possessed by the devil until her long-time love John Black

(Drake Hogestyn), who was then a priest, performed an exorcism on her to send the devil back to the depths from which it came. And they say romance is dead.

(Network 10): Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) has died and returned from the dead, not once but twice. In the first instance, Ridge Forrester (then played by Ronn Moss, pictured right with Tylo) discovers his wife didn’t die in a plane crash but, suffering from amnesia, was living with a Moroccan prince. Approximately 10 years later, Taylor was again supposedly killed at the hands of Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) only to arise from the grave once again.

DaysOfOurLives: Roman Brady returns from the dead looking completely different and no-one bats an eyelid. When the original Roman (Wayne Northrop) shows up, it turns out the other man was actually John Black, who had been brainwashed into believing he was Roman. Confused? Us too. That’s part of the fun of daytime soaps.

TheBoldAndTheBeautiful : Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) has been married to almost every male member of the Forrester family. She’s wed Ridge too many times to keep count, has tied the knot with his father Eric (John McCook) on multiple occasions, as well as gotten hitched to Ridge’s half-brothers, Thorne (Winsor Harmon) and Dominick (Jack Wagner).
