Driver ‘was .225’ in CBD

VEHICLES were forced to take evasive action after a driver, 33, allegedly swerved into the wrong lane of Mitchell St early on Saturday.

The man, who was stopped by an undercover police vehicle, was taken into custody soon after midnight.

He later allegedly blew .225, more than four times the legal limit.

Police allege the Ford Ranger he was driving swerved into the wrong side of the road along the busy stretch of Mitchell St, forcing oncoming traffic to dodge him.

NT Police said he would be charged with driving with high-range blood alcohol content and driving in a dangerous manner.
