BUSINESSES CAN PIVOT WITH GRANTS BOOST

- THOMAS MORGAN

A SECOND round of Small Business Pivot Grants will be opened from Monday, with the aim of helping Territory enterprises rebound and grow after the pandemic.

Grants of up to $10,000 are available but reliant on businesses providing a 50:50 co-contribution.

The grants can be used to buy new equipment, software, renovate business premises, engage consultants and undertake upskilling of staff.

Small Business Minister Paul Kirby said 139 businesses accessed $820,000 in grant funding in the first round of the Small Business Pivot Grants.

“When Covid hit we acted quickly to save lives and save jobs – now we’re helping Territory businesses adapt to the new economy,” Mr Kirby said. “We will keep backing small businesses because they are our job makers and these grants will help Territorians improve their businesses and adopt new technology to grow.”

Recipients of the grant include business owner Paul Arnold.
