COULD A SUPERSTAR JOIN ROCCO AT CROCS?

- GREY MORRIS

SOUTHERN Districts will reveal the biggest recruiting name of the season when Tiwi Islands star Ross Tungatalum runs out in a Crocodile jumper on Sunday.

Districts are scheduled to play the Darwin Buffaloes at Cazalys Arena in what looms as the perfect stage for a Tungatalum special.

Linked with St Mary’s last season, Tungatalum’s work through the middle and up forward will be a vital cog in Districts’ bid to play finals football this season.

Tungatalum’s arrival comes at a time when prolific ballgetter and this season’s joint SANFL Magarey Medal winner James Tsitas is undecided on his future at Fred’s Pass.

Tsitas starred at Districts last season before cutting his season short to begin pre-season training with eventual SANFL premiers Woodville-West Torrens.

“I’m not sure – I was pretty focused on winning the grand final with the Eagles,” Tsitas said when asked if he would return to Darwin.

“I reckon I’ll know in the next couple of weeks whether I’ll play up there again and even who with.”

Buffaloes coach Cameron Stokes wants to build on his side’s 20-point win over a spirited Tiwi in their season opener.

“While it was pleasing to start the season with a win, we know we have to improve on that effort,” Stokes said. “It was a game of two halves, where we were very good in the first two quarters and the Tiwis played really well after halftime.”

The Buffaloes are likely to make minimal changes for the 4pm clash at Palmerston, although Stokes has hinted Katherine utility Kayle Kossack could come into the side.
