Ned rated a genuine hopeful

FORMER Waratah star Ned Stevens has been rated a “genuine draft prospect” as he strives to realise this dream in Queensland’s AFL Combine on Sunday.

The Suns Academy star has the height and vertical leap to impress AFL scouts in individual drills.

“Ned is a genuine draft prospect. He has great breakaway pace, especially given his size,” AFLNT talent manager Simon Hargrave said.

Stevens has played Territory footy since under-12 level, with both Waratah and Nightcliff, before making his Premier League debut for Tahs in the 2020-21 season.

He was selected as part of the Gold Coast Suns’ Next Generation Academy program in 2020 and got his first taste of the VFL in March, 2021.

He is also a former Tracy Village Jets basketball star.
