ANOTHER ONE BITES THE HOOK

- FLOSS ADAMS

A $10,000 fish has been snagged by a lucky fisho in the Darwin Harbour.

Palmerston fisho Brendan Graham snagged the $10,000 barramundi at East Arm as part of the Million Dollar Fish Competition.

Mr Graham said he has entered the Million Dollar Fish competition for the last few seasons.

“I have a boat and get out when I can, and couldn’t believe it when I caught a fish and saw a tag in it,” Mr Graham said.

Major events Minister Natasha Fyles said the Million Dollar Fish competition supports local jobs and contributes to the Territory economy.

Anyone who catches a $10,000 fish gets to donate an additional $1000 to an official charity partner.

Mr Graham chose to donate his $1000 to the Cancer Council NT.

There are still 97 tagged barra worth $10,000 swimming around in Top End waterways, and eight fish worth $1m.
