Raptor-like dino a vego
THE “largest meat-eating dinosaur” from the Triassic era was actually a vegetarian, scientists have discovered.
The University of Queensland team reanalysed fossil footprints found 50 years ago in an Ipswich coalmine long thought to be from a large “raptor-like” predatory dinosaur. Rather than being left by a 2m-tall theropod carnivore, they concluded the 220 million-year-old imprints came from a Prosauropod. These were smaller, vegetarian dinosaurs, about 1.4m tall and with a body about 6m long.
