Pfizer dips over time

THE effectiveness of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine loses strength in all age groups over months, a study has found.

Researchers compared the virus rates among those vaccinated when they were first eligible in early 2021 and those who were vaccinated a couple of months later during a surge of the Delta variant in July.

“Across all ages 16 and over, those who were vaccinated earlier were infected about 1.6 times the rate of those vaccinated later,” according to the study from Israel’s Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

“The vaccine appeared to lose effectiveness at preventing severe disease, too.”
