Unbreakable new phones
A TEAM of researchers have harnessed new technology to make phone screens unbreakable. The breakthrough from the University of Queensland will create “next-generation composite glass”, which will be used on various devices, including TVs and computers.
Dr Jingwei Hou said researchers had unlocked the strength of perovskite nanocrystal technology, which was previously only produced in the bone-dry controlled atmosphere of a laboratory.
However they were “extremely sensitive” and “even water vapour in our air would kill the current devices in a matter of minutes”.
