Alleged serious assault

ONE man is in hospital and another behind bars after an alleged serious assault in Moil overnight on Friday.

An NT Police spokesman said officers received a report of a disturbance outside a residence in Linde St about 8pm and located a 31-year-old man at the address with facial and head injuries.

The man was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital for urgent treatment and is now in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, the alleged offender, also aged 31 and “a known relative to the victim” was found by police and taken to the Palmerston watch house. A crime scene has been established while detectives investigate and Acting Senior Sergeant Jon Beer urged anyone with any information to come forward.

“Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident,” he said.
