Ambitious plans to boost Top End tourism
TWO new helipads have been proposed on the site of the Katherine Museum, in plans that could bolster the region’s tourism industry.
The service would be run by Katherine Helicopters in collaboration with the museum, with the helipad sites to be located on the southwest end of the museum grounds.
It comes as the old Springvale Homestead may get a second life as a caravan park under another development application in the region. The proposed site would be open only in the dry season and be set up to cater for guests with self-contained caravans and campervans.
