Field plays Jessie Buss, the mother of the LA Lakers’ new owner Jerry Buss (John C Reilly). Every bit as eccentric as her son, Jessie appears to be the only person Jerry allows to see his vulnerability, and to whom he entrusts his fears for the Lakers’ debts. Meanwhile, Jerry’s daughter Jeanie (Hadley Robinson) tries to prove her new job at the Lakers isn’t pure nepotism.
