AS the title suggests, this factual series sees host Noni Hazlehurst (pictured) help people find answers about their family’s past, often unearthing some dark secrets along the way. In this week’s riveting episode, jovial farmer Peter seeks to find out more about his often violent, European-born father. Peter suspects his father – who had Nazi medals – might have lied about his place of birth and his activities before arriving in Australia.

With the help of historians, Peter (who grew up believing his father was a war hero) embarks on a painful journey to find out whether his late dad was, in fact, the opposite – a war criminal on the run.
