Trio face bottle-o charges

CHARGES have been laid after two teenagers and a man allegedly broke into a Darwin bottle shop armed with weapons.

Police received a report of an aggravated robbery at the BWS store in Bellamack about 5.55pm on Friday.

“The group allegedly forced entry into the store while armed with weapons and began to steal liquor and damage property,” Watch Commander Rob Overall said.

“The staff in attendance were forced to hide behind the service counter as the men threatened them, demanding alcohol.”

Police said metal bars were used to damage property and ransack the store.

Nearby patrons apprehendi­ng the alleged offenders, however one patron was allegedly assaulted and injured.

Three males – aged 15, 16 and 29 – are in police custody facing a number of charges, including aggravated robbery.

The 29-year-old was also charged with recruiting a child to commit an offence.

All three were remanded to appear in court on Monday.
