IMPOSING LIONS ROAR IN ANNIHILATION OF SAD ROOS

-

BRISBANE has put the competition on notice, stamping itself as a “genuine premiership contender” with a 10808point demolition of f North Melbourne.

The Lions led from start to finish, extending the margin at every change before securing the 23.18 (156) to 7.6 (48) victory on Saturday night.

Leading by 56 at threequarter time, Brisbane put its foot down in the last term to kick nine goals to one and record its first 100-point-plus victory since 2007.

The win at the Gabba could have been even bigger if not for Charlie Cameron’s wayward radar in front of goal, kicking 2.6 including 1.6 from set shots.

But the Lions’ forward line showed why they are considered one of the best in the competition”, with a host of multiple goal scorers including Lincoln McCarthy (five), Joe Daniher (three), Charlie Cameron (two) and Zac Bailey (four).

Brisbane got off to the perfect start, with a seven-goal opening term.
