WARNING ON COT MOULD

-

AN urgent warning has been issued for a popular brand of children’s cots after some parents reported dangerous mould was growing on the base.

The consumer watchdog says it is investigating reports of the mould growing on the base of Mocka cots, owned by Adairs, following fierce and extreme weather across the country.

Parents are urged to check their products immediately and contact Mocka and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

“We’re currently investigating whether the mould is dangerous,” the ACCC’s product safety department said in a Facebook post.

“If your child is showing symptoms of mould exposure, such as congestion, sneezing, coughing, respiratory distress, allergies or other irritations, please consult a doctor as soon as possible.”
