Buddy set for forced break

-

SYDNEY remains unclear on how long forward Lance Franklin will be sidelined after he suffered a broken finger in the Swans’ 11-point win over North Melbourne at the SCG.

The eight-time AllAustralian kicked two goals before being subbed out in the third quarter as the Swans went on to snatch a last-gasp win.

“Looks like he’s broken his finger so we’ll see what the specialist says on Monday. It’s a bit too early,” coach John Longmire said.

“He just went into a tackle and hurt his finger.”

North’s response after last week’s humiliating 108-point loss to Brisbane Lions helped restore some much-needed pride to the club, with inspirational captain Jack Ziebell kicking five goals.
