Women honoured in awards
FOUR Territory women have been named finalists in the 2022 NT AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.
Kylie Jones, Tisha Tejava, Simone Cameron and Liandra Gaykamangu have been announced as contenders for the renowned Territory-wide award and recognised for their work in supporting rural development across regional and remote communities.
AgriFutures Australia managing director John Harvey said the awards supported “the essential role women play in rural industries and communities”. “Celebrating our finalists is important because these women, and their contributions, deserve to be acknowledged,” Mr Harvey said.
The NT winner will be named on April 29 and will go on to represent the Territory at the national awards in September.
She will receive a $15,000 grant from Westpac, with the money to go towards supporting her project.
She will also be able to complete a professional development training course of her choice.
