JackJumpers’ eyes on Perth

- JARROD LAWLER

THE Tasmania JackJumpers’ focus turns to Perth on Sunday afternoon to see if their fairytale NBL debut season can be capped with a remarkable appearance in the playoffs.

On Saturday in Hobart the JackJumpers kept their finals dreams alive with a monster 83-61 victory over first- placed Melbourne United.

With the win Tassie sits at 17-11 for the season and to make the playoffs the equation is simple: If Perth defeats South East Melbourne on Sunday the JackJumpers’ season is over: if the Wildcats fall to the Phoenix then the JackJumpers will leapfrog Perth to remarkably enter next week’s finals.

If Perth loses on Sunday it would bring to an end a run of 35 consecutive NBL finals appearances for the Wildcats.
