BAT OUTTA HELL
CHAOS descended on Lucky Bat on Friday after one audience member took particular issue with a stand-up comedian’s performance.
Bushie’s spies didn’t observe what sparked the verbal exchange, but the aftermath sure was entertaining to watch.
The remainder of the crowd was spellbound as the scene unfolded over what felt like hours, leaving Darwin personality Leah Potter to step in and regain control.
MOSCOW A GO-GO
CLOWNS, promises of amazement and ridiculous sideshows have arrived in Darwin – also the Moscow circus is in town.
While Bushranger loves a good allegory, maybe having the circus in town in the lead-up to election is too heavy handed a metaphor.
SUN BURN
ONE Darwin journo received some tough feedback from the public after a particularly rough press conference with Eva Lawler last week.
Ms Lawler announced some changes to the Territory’s solar panel feed-in tariff t policies, leading to a brutal series of o questions.
Afterwards, a local business owner who observed the fiasco went over to a journo and said she felt like punching the journalists in the face for being so mean.
SELFISH SUFFICIENT
THE brutality of that Eva Lawler press conference was reasonably understandable given that such sweeping changes would lead to high emotions.
Although after Ms Lawler’s grilling, one of the journalists responsible for the tense exchanges quietly admitted they had rooftop solar.
BAD SIGN FOR MARION
ONE reader has noticed the Jawoyn Association might be trying to make a political statement during this federal election, and it isn’t good for Labor.
The Katherine-based organisation has eight signs out the front of its offices – four for the CLP’s Jacinta
Price and another four for the CLP’s Damien Ryan. None for Marion Scrymgour or Malarndirri McCarthy.
Perhaps a sign of an interesting election night to come, given insiders from both sides of the scrum admit they think Lingiari will be a close race on May 21.
