Let Ingrid jazz up your afternoon of music
AWARD-WINNING jazz singer Ingrid James will return to the Sunshine Coast this month for an afternoon of entertainment for jazz lovers.
The Sunshine Coast Jazz Club will present the Ingrid James Quintet on Sunday, November 18, at Caloundra Power Boat Club from 2pm.
Ingrid is a Queensland jazz singer, voice educator, songwriter, recording artist, vocal producer and a pivotal figure in the Brisbane jazz scene.
She has performed extensively around Australia at festivals such as the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Brisbane International Jazz and Valley Jazz Festivals as well as in the Spiegeltent for the Brisbane Festival. Ingrid was Queen of the Noosa Jazz Festival three times and performed at that festival many times.
International highlights include Ronnie Scotts in London as well as 606 Club, Jazz Pizza Express, Spice of Life, a tour around the UK, including the Czech Republic and in France, where she opened for the Blue Note Jazz Festival in Monaco. Ingrid has recorded five international CDs in the UK, USA and France as well as four domestic CDs.
One of the top jazz singers from Australia, Ingrid is the type of musician who immediately draws you in with her beautiful voice, wide range and the ability to sing difficult intervals with ease, hitting every note with pristine clarity. Special local guest artist will be John Conley on double bass and bass guitar.
