THE fantastic Fast4 competition for Semester 2, 2018, came to a fantastic conclusion over the past few weeks.

Both divisions finished in great fashion with some terrific tennis played all round.

Division 1 saw team Hewitt, with Trent Drew, Marc Newman, Wayne Smith and Jenny Marks, play team Djokovic with Matt Deverson, Terry Finney, Penny McGaughran and Michelle Noffke.

Team Hewitt jumped out of the blocks, winning the first four sets in quick fashion.

Djokovic fought their way back to square the last four sets 2–2, however it was Hewitt’s night, winning in style – six sets to two.

The grand final for Division 2 was nothing short of spectacular.

In the thriller of the season, Stockland won their third title in succession.

However Spartans pushed them all the way to the last set tie-breaker before order was restored and Stockland won the night.

Congratulations to the Stockland team of Mark Stephens, Paul McDonald, Jess Knott and Robyn McCluskey and well done to the runners-up – Jackson Laverick, Franz Reiher, Sean Cass and Oliver Story.

Summer clinics

Our junior holiday clinic program this summer will see not one but three great tennis clinics.

The first will be December 10–12, then December 17–20, with the final one just before school returns from January 21–24.

They are open to players aged four and up.

The clinics will be a blast! With tuition, games, prizes and a free racquet giveaway to the popular ball machine, amazing speed radar fun and, best of all, the end-of-clinic party, a great time of tennis is assured.
