Over-population

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - YOUR SAY NEWS -

SOME may be in climate change denial but nobody can deny the devastating effects of overpopulation. We see pollution of oceans and depletion of resources, forest clearing to grow things like palm oil, loss of habitat for native creatures and resulting extinctions – the list goes on. Increased population also brings increased use of fossil fuels, increased CO2 from us and our domestic animals and dare I say it, more severe climate related events. There have been climate variations in the past but there has never before been 7.5 billion people (and their industrialisation) or anything like it.
