LET’S be hon­est, how much time did you waste on click­bait lists in 2018?

You know the ones, like “seven ways to look ten years younger”.

In the in­ter­ests of short at­ten­tion spans ev­ery­where, the be­low list will be the most im­por­tant one you will read this year.

A re­cent study has found one in four peo­ple will have a stroke in their life­time.

A stroke does not dis­crim­i­nate.

It can strike any­one, at any age and any time.

But there is hope – and it is called pre­ven­tion.

Around 80 per cent of strokes can be pre­vented, and we can all take these sim­ple steps to re­duce our risk.

1. Get your blood pres­sure checked reg­u­larly

2. Man­age your choles­terol

3. Eat a healthy bal­anced diet

4. Ex­er­cise reg­u­larly

5. Quit smok­ing

6. Only drink al­co­hol in mod­er­a­tion

Re­mem­ber this list and take your first steps to­wards re­duc­ing your stroke risk in 2019.

It could save your life.
