Tennis wrap up

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - SPORT -

CALOUNDRA Tennis has finished the year with a bang with a fantastic tennis clinic party and a great Christmas party of tennis and fun.

The clinic players had terrific fun, improving their games and enjoying the many different activities the week provided.

As we do each holidays, we like to give some awards for extra achievement and effort throughout the clinic. The awards went to: Group 1 winner: Drew Duncan. Group 1 runner-up: Mia Bielken. Group 2 winner: Willem Van Der Klay. Group 2 runner-up: Jake Lloyd. Group 3 winner: Knox Lloyd. Group 3 runner-up: Piper Gregson.

Piper Gregson was also the lucky winner of the racquet giveaway, with James McCluskey winning a well-deserved encouragement award of a free private lesson. Nice work guys and now we look forward to our January 21-24 holiday clinic.

The Christmas party was a fantastic day with great entertainment. With the treasure hunt, mini-tennis, Speed Radar, awesome food, guess the amount of balls competition and the exciting BMW boot comp, there was something for everyone.

Drew Duncan stole the show when he defeated nearly 100 people to win the BMW competition.

The rules were simple – hit a ball into boot of a Coastline BMW car.

The ball had to bounce once and only once. After a series of eliminations Drew was our champ, winning $200 of in store goods at Coastline and the family will enjoy a new BMW for a weekend.

Cameron Poulos won the ball guessing competition and there were many winners in the treasure hunt.
