Sisters’ sweet small screen debut

Sunshine Coast Daily - - NEWS - – Seanna Cronin

COMPETING on a reality cooking show has brought sisters

Bec and Nicole Giles closer together.

With a 10-year age difference and more than 1700km between the Coast-raised siblings – Bec now lives in Brisbane and Nicole lives in Melbourne – they treated Family Food Fight as a bonding experience.

“If I’d done this with anyone else I wouldn’t have got through it the way that I did with Nicole,” Bec, 31, told the Daily.

“There were times it would get a bit heated in the kitchen, but she’s solid gold.”

Bec, a Kawana Waters High School graduate, plans to pursue a career in food after the show.

“I’ve always had a passion for food,” she said.

“You can host dinner parties with a lot of your friends and they will tell you that your food tastes great, but I started to wonder am I really any good? The motivation for going on the show was to find out what professionals think of my food, and I convinced Nicole to come on with me.”

Season two of Family Food Fight premieres soon on Nine.
