I READ with incredulity that Scott Morrison is activating a $28.9 billion
tax break to small businesses.
Whilst in theory this might sound like a wonderful boost for both business and workers, the reality is that it is completely naive in the extreme to believe that this “gift” will lead to a relief in a five-year salary stagnation.
History shows profit increases boosted by fewer staff are more likely.
Small businesses are already making profits but no sign that any of this is filtering through to wages.
