THERE are so many places to cel­e­brate with fam­ily, friends and the com­mu­nity on the Sun­shine Coast in the lead-up to Christ­mas.

The Sun­shine Coast Daily has cre­ated a huge, chrono­log­i­cal list of events that should keep ev­ery­one en­ter­tained this De­cem­ber.

So grab your Santa hats and your fes­tive spirit and join the com­mu­nity in cel­e­brat­ing the most won­der­ful time of the year.

Here are 18 fun-filled events for the whole fam­ily this hol­i­day sea­son on the Coast:

Christ­mas movie and car­ols

When: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8 from 4pm

Where: Chan­cel­lor State Col­lege, Sippy Downs

En­joy a jump­ing cas­tle, food trucks, bub­ble soc­cer and car­ols at this fam­ily fun event be­fore sit­ting back to watch the movie Fer­di­nand on the huge out­door screen from 7pm.

Christ­mas con­cert

When: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8 from 2pm

Where: Kawana Com­mu­nity Hall, Nany­ima St, Bud­dina

Bring the whole fam­ily for this Christ­mas con­cert with car­ols by the Sun­shine Coast Band, per­fect for the whole fam­ily.

Tick­ets are $15 and in­clude af­ter­noon tea.

Tram­fest Christ­mas Cel­e­bra­tion

When: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8, 5-9pm

Where: Howard St, Nam­bour Bring the whole fam­ily for a free night of mu­sic, food and fun at the Tram­fest Christ­mas Cel­e­bra­tion in Nam­bour.

Tree­house Kids Christ­mas Party

When: Sun­day, De­cem­ber 9, 9am-2pm

Where: Field 1, Kawana Sports Precinct, Nicklin Way

Bring your swim­mers for the an­nual Tree­house Christ­mas Party, the big­gest dis­abil­ity Christ­mas party on the Coast.

Tick­ets are $10 per per­son, as a do­na­tion to STEPS Austism Tree­house.

Christ­mas in Alex

When: Sun­day, De­cem­ber 9, 4-8pm

Where: Buhk Park, Alexan­dra

En­joy rides and free en­ter­tain­ment at this fam­i­lyfriendly Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tion.

Pere­gian Beach Christ­mas Car­ols

When: Tues­day, De­cem­ber 11 from 5pm

Where: Pere­gian Beach Park

See­ing Santa soar­ing from the sky isn’t an ev­ery­day sight – un­less you’re in Pere­gian Beach for the an­nual car­ols.

There will be cir­cus acts and roam­ing an­gels, face paint­ing and tasty treats, artist mer­chan­dise and the muchloved carol can­dle.

A Fam­ily Christ­mas

When: Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14 from 6.30pm

Where: Kawana For­est Meet­ing Place, 60 Wood­lands Boule­vard, Meri­dan Plains

Lis­ten to the story of the first Christ­mas and en­joy live mu­sic and car­ols at this fam­ily-friendly event.

Maleny Christ­mas Fes­ti­val

When: Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14 from 6pm

Where: Maple St, Maleny

This fam­ily friendly com­mu­nity event is full of great food stalls, rides for kids, mu­sic and en­ter­tain­ment.

Nights on Ocean Christ­mas Mar­kets

When: Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14,

5-9pm

Where: Ocean St, Ma­roochy­dore

En­joy a fun-filled fes­ti­val at­mos­phere at the Nights on Ocean event.

Ex­plore the mar­ket and food stalls, watch live en­ter­tain­ment and em­brace the buzz of the sur­round­ing restau­rant and bars.

USC So­lar Nights

When: De­cem­ber 14-23,

6.30-9pm

Where: Uni­ver­sity of the Sun­shine Coast, Sippy Downs

USC presents So­lar Nights – an ethe­real, in­ter­ac­tive light trail for the whole com­mu­nity to en­joy.

Run­ning for 10 nights, the event will fea­ture a trail of mag­i­cal light dis­plays to cap­ti­vate, in­spire and en­ter­tain peo­ple of all ages.

Fundrais­ing Sausage Siz­zle

When: De­cem­ber 15, 23 and 24 from sun­set Where: 9 Bell­bird Place, Pere­gian Springs

The Kirkhams have switched on this silly sea­son, us­ing their in­cred­i­ble Christ­mas lights dis­play as a space to host a clas­sic Aussie sum­mer bar­bie.

Prof­its from the three sausage siz­zle nights go to IFYS.

Car­ols and Twi­light Christ­mas Mar­kets

When: De­cem­ber 15, 3-8.15pm Where: Nam­bour Show­grounds, Corona­tion Ave, Nam­bour

En­joy twi­light Christ­mas mar­kets, kids’ en­ter­tain­ment, an an­i­mal farm, face paint­ing, jump­ing cas­tle and food stalls at the Nam­bour Com­mu­nity Car­ols and Twi­light Christ­mas Mar­ket.

There will be more than 40 mar­ket stalls and food ven­dors, giv­ing you plenty of op­por­tu­nity to pur­chase those last-minute gifts.

Eu­mundi Christ­mas Night Mar­ket

When: De­cem­ber 21, 5-9pm

Where: 80 Memo­rial Drive, Eu­mundi

Visit Eu­mundi for some Christ­mas shop­ping un­der the stars.

Santa will ar­rive at 5.30pm and there will be live mu­sic by Dean Gray, plus face paint­ing, a pet­ting zoo and free bal­loon twist­ing for kids. When: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 22, 6.30-8.30pm

Where: 51 Parkn Pde, Mooloolaba The Mooloolaba Yacht Club Christ­mas Boat Pa­rade is a Christ­mas lights dis­play where you’ll find dec­o­rated hulls along­side houses.

The event is free for spec­ta­tors, or pa­rade en­try by do­na­tion.

Aussie World Christ­mas Spec­tac­u­lar

When: Satur­day, De­cem­ber 22, from 5pm

Where: Aussie World

Meet Santa and Mrs Claus, come face-to-face with Christ­mas char­ac­ters, en­joy the rov­ing Car­ollers, watch the fire­works, meet the Aussie Kids and watch the Christ­mas show in The Shed at the Aussie World Christ­mas Spec­tac­u­lar.

There will also be snow, py­rotech­nics, laser dis­plays, Christ­mas lights and live en­ter­tain­ment.

Mooloolaba Christ­mas Cel­e­bra­tions

When: Mon­day, De­cem­ber 24 from 6pm

Where: Mooloolaba Beach

Watch Santa ar­rive in true Sun­shine Coast style and en­joy a fan­tas­tic fire­work dis­play on Mooloolaba Main Beach with the whole fam­ily.

Ke­nil­worth Com­mu­nity Christ­mas Eve

When: Mon­day, De­cem­ber 24,

4.30-9pm

Where: Ke­nil­worth Hall and Show­grounds

En­joy this free, all-ages com­mu­nity event held every year on Christ­mas Eve at Ke­nil­worth Show­grounds.

There will be amuse­ment rides as well as a visit from Santa.

Montville Christ­mas Won­der­land

When: De­cem­ber 23-24 Where: 15 Nar­rows Rd, Montville

Im­merse your­self in the spirit of Christ­mas at the mag­i­cal Montville Christ­mas Won­der­land.

The in­door dis­play in­cludes a minia­ture vil­lage, Aus­tralian Christ­mas dis­play, large na­tiv­ity scene, horse and car­riage, plus more.

Tick­ets are $5 for adults, $2 for chil­dren or $12 for a fam­ily pass.

FES­TIVE SPIRIT: There will be plenty of fun for the whole fam­ily at Aussie World's Christ­mas Spec­tac­u­lar on De­cem­ber 22.

Maleny Christ­mas Fes­ti­val is hosted by Maleny Com­merce and run by a small but ac­tive team of vol­un­teers.
