New bridge on way
AN 85-YEAR-OLD timber bridge carrying the D’Aguilar Highway over Kilcoy Creek will be replaced later this year with a new 15-metre-long, two-lane concrete bridge. The new bridge will improve road safety, road freight productivity and community connections for local motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. The $5.88 million project is jointly funded, with both the Australian and Queensland governments committing $2.94 million. Construction is expected to start mid-2019.
