The Surfing Animals Alphabet Book

Surfing World - - Introduction -

The litmus test of any good childhood A-Z book is that dreaded X. So many xylophones! So how does Surfing Animals, the most shredtastic kids A-Z book on the planet, handle it? Well, very well, and it’s a good indication of just how solid this kid piece of surf literature really is: “The Xenopus is a type of frog, who usually surfs an old school log. But when she’s keen for some big-wave fun, she’ll surf with her step-up, a lightning-bolt gun.” Nailed it. Surfing Animals is the delightful collab of Sydney illustrator Jonas Claesson and Gold Coast writer/rhymer James Redmayne, that is truly authentic in it’s surf language and style. The only problem with it is a big ol’ J for jealousy, wishing this was around for when we were sand-eating toddlers. – jonasclaes
