Sheep show way up

PRICES were stronger as a lighter yard­ing of lambs was on of­fer at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Mon­day.

Heavy new sea­son’s lambs reached a top of $173 per head and were sell­ing from $149.

Lighter lamb types were slightly eas­ier but still sold well this week. Medi­umweight lambs made from $132 to $151 each while light lambs sold from $114 to $140.

Mut­ton sold very strongly again with sheep top­ping at $106 and sell­ing from $60 each.

There was a heav­ier pen­ning of 72 pigs of­fered and prices were on a par with last week’s eas­ier rates.

Best pork sold from $210 to $280 per head and lighter types made $140 to $200
