Lo­cals snap up home­bred ram

Valma 289-17, the top-priced ram at the Valma stud ram sale, is held by An­drew McLauch­lan, with pur­chasers Paul Day of Sun­ny­bank stud and Chris Bad­cock of Fairbank stud. Valma sold all 12 stud rams of­fered at the sale. Poll Dorset Valma 289-17, sired by Valma 47-12, sold for $14,200 to the Fairbank, Sun­ny­bank and Capeland studs in Tas­ma­nia. The other rams sold to in­ter­state studs with the av­er­age for the sale $3650.
