FULL STEAM: The an­nual Steam Up at Pearn’s Steam World in West­bury will be held this week­end. The event will run from 9am to 4pm each day from Satur­day to Mon­day. This year spe­cial fea­tures in­clude an in­ter­na­tional trac­tor roll-up on the Satur­day and a Massey Fer­gu­son muster on the Sun­day. De­tails: Ger­ard Gel­ston 0407 681 161.

PONY CLUB GYMKHANA: The Leven Pony Club hosts the an­nual J. P. Warnock Shield at North Mot­ton Eques­trian Cen­tre on Mon­day. The gymkhana is the third in­ter-club gymkhana held in the North-West Zone this sea­son and is open to rid­ers from all Tas­ma­nian pony clubs. Ac­tion starts at 9am with flat classes be­fore games and showjump­ing. Clubs com­pete for a shield do­nated in 1962 by vet­eri­nar­ian J.P. IN BLOOM: Roses, irises and rhodo­den­drons will be the stars at the Launce­s­ton Hor­ti­cul­tural So­ci­ety’s late spring show from Novem­ber 10-11. The show will be held at St Ailbe’s Hall, Mar­garet St, Launce­s­ton from 2pm to 5pm on the Satur­day and from 10am to 4pm on the Sun­day. Cost: $3.

VAL­LEY SHOW: The Huon Show will be held on Novem­ber 17 at the Ranelagh Show­grounds. The show will run from 8am to 4.30pm. Cost: $10, chil­dren from five to 16 years $5, fam­ily $25. Sched­ules are at www.huon­show.com.au. GAR­DEN GATH­ER­ING: The Zonta Club of Devon­port is host­ing an open gar­den gath­er­ing on Novem­ber 24 at Leith. The day will run from from 11am to 4 pm at Hutchin­son Gar­den, 23 Hull St, Leith and in­clude prfor­mances by Take Note choir at 1 pm and Right on Cue choir at 3pm. There are also demon­stra­tions, plant stall, chil­dren’s games and ac­tiv­i­ties with food and drinks avail­able. The event raises funds for women im­pacted by do­mes­tic vi­o­lence. OLIVE FIELD DAY: In­te­grated pest and dis­ease man­age­ment is the theme of a field day for the olive in­dus­try on De­cem­ber 1.
