FULL STEAM: The annual Steam Up at Pearn’s Steam World in Westbury will be held this weekend. The event will run from 9am to 4pm each day from Saturday to Monday. PONY CLUB GYMKHANA: The Leven Pony Club hosts the annual J. P. Warnock Shield at North Motton Equestrian Centre on Monday. The gymkhana is the third inter-club gymkhana held in the North-West Zone this season and is open to riders from all Tasmanian pony clubs. Action starts at 9am with flat classes before games and showjumping. Clubs compete for a shield donated in 1962 by veterinarian J.P. IN BLOOM: Roses, irises and rhododendrons will be the stars at the Launceston Horticultural Society’s late spring show from November 10-11. The show will be held at St Ailbe’s Hall, Margaret St, Launceston from 2pm to 5pm on the Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on the Sunday. Cost: $3.
VALLEY SHOW: The Huon Show will be held on November 17 at the Ranelagh Showgrounds. The show will run from 8am to 4.30pm. Cost: $10, children from five to 16 years $5, family $25. The day will run from from 11am to 4 pm at Hutchinson Garden, 23 Hull St, Leith and include prformances by Take Note choir at 1 pm and Right on Cue choir at 3pm. There are also demonstrations, plant stall, children’s games and activities with food and drinks available. The event raises funds for women impacted by domestic violence.
