Upward move in cattle prices
PRICES improved this week as a light yarding of 50 trade and processor cattle was on offer at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Wednesday.
A couple of well-polished lines of heavy trade steers and steer vealers reached the sale high of 312c/kg.
Trade steers made 268c/kg to 298c/kg while heifers made 232c/kg to 304c/kg.
There were only a handful of processing cows yarded and these held to recent quotes. Beef cows made 150c/kg to 172c/kg and dairy breeds up to 132c/kg.
Due to Monday’s public holiday there was no lamb sale.
