Test­ing time for top dogs across the ditch

joined by a com­peti­tors from Queens­land and Western Aus­tralia and will travel to Nel­son in New Zealand next year to com­pete in a two test se­ries for the Way­leggo Cup.

Across the coun­try there are 700 Aus­tralian Sheep­dog As­so­ci­a­tion mem­bers, in­clud­ing just 25 from Tas­ma­nia.

Mr McGlashan and Nell are a very ex­pe­ri­enced com­bi­na­tion, hav­ing been in­cluded in the Aus­tralian team eight times be­tween them.

Nell has also claimed the Supreme Aus­tralian Cham­pi­onship as well as the Com­mon­wealth Cham­pi­onship.

This is the sec­ond time Mr Grant has qual­i­fied to rep­re­sent Aus­tralia.

The re­cent com­pe­ti­tion was the sec­ond time Dot qual­i­fied to rep­re­sent Tas­ma­nia and this will be her first time in the Aus­tralian team.

Be­tween them Mr Grant and Mr McGlashan have 70 years of stock-han­dling and tri­alling ex­pe­ri­ence.

They are both pas­sion­ate about the sport and say they are keen to take on and hope­fully beat the Ki­wis.
