Butcher bat­tle for cat­tle heats up

A HEAV­IER cat­tle yard­ing saw strong butcher com­pe­ti­tion on most lines at Roberts’ Quoiba sale on Wed­nes­day.

While prices were firmer on many lines pro­cess­ing cows held re­cent firm quotes.

Trade steers had a stong show­ing, sell­ing from 210c/kg to a top of 312c/kg, and trade heifers were mak­ing 220c/kg to a sale top of 314c/kg.

Beef cows were mak­ing 94c/kg to 182c/kg and dairy cows sold to 104c/kg.
