Horse deaths to go to court
THE court case over the deaths of polo ponies on a Bass Strait crossing from Tasmania is set to start next week.
The ABC reported this week Spirit of Tasmania operator TT-Line is claiming it had no liability for the deaths of 16 horses it transported in January.
The ABC reported the horses’ owner Andrew Williams and others were suing TT-Line and QUBE Ports in the Victorian Supreme Court, with a directions hearing in Melbourne next Friday.
The polo ponies had been in Tasmania competing at Barnbougle in the state’s NorthEast before the crossing from Devonport to the Port of Melbourne.
