Benefits line up in direct imports
VAN Diemens Land irrigation is a Tasmanian family company specialising in importing, manufacturing and installing quality irrigation and pumping equipment.
The business purchases and imports directly from manufacturers, cutting out agents and marketers and passing on these savings to the end user.
Van Diemens Land Irrigation was founded in 2010 by Rob Ikin, incorporating his existing business and branching out into importing pivot, linear and hard-hose irrigator equipment and other machinery.
Mr Ikin has more than 30 years’ experience in the Tasmanian irrigation and agricultural machinery industry.
“I offer all my clients honest and experienced irrigation sales advice and look forward to being able to help them with their next irrigation project,” he said.
In 2015 Paul Arnold joined Van Diemens Land Irrigation as business and administration manager and joint owner.
The staff includes experienced irrigation fitters, machine operators and technicians who offer a complete installation service as well as prompt after-sales backup.
Van Diemens Land Irrigation is Tasmanian importer for Pierce pivots, designed and built in the United States. The flagship machine, the CP600 centre pivot, is built for strength and reliability.
The Pierce line-up includes a poly-lined pivot for hard water and effluent, a high-profile machine as well as one for lower flows and smaller fields.
Pierce’s Field Master is a heavy-duty linear irrigator with a unique swing-around four-wheel cart.
Pierce is a leading manufacturer of mini-pivots, with a heavy-duty Micro Pivot ideal for small fields, undulating country and a cost-effective way of irrigating dairy effluent.
Van Diemens Land Irrigation has many Pierce CP600 pivots and micro pivots operating in the state and they have proven to be tough and reliable for local conditions
The business is also importing agents for hard-hose irrigators from Irtec, an Italian manufacturer. Irtec offers heavy-duty machines with a drive that works effectively on lower pressures.
Van Diemens Land Irrigation stocks a range of machines suitable for small plots and speciality crops and there are already more than 160 Irtec machines in Tasmania.
The business can build pump sets in any size, with inhouse manufacturing and access to top engine brands.
Van Diemens Land Irrigation operates its own excavating and trenching machinery and has the ability to complete entire projects.
The business is based in Launceston and services all of Tasmania.
