Digital push still on

Tasmanian Country - - NEWS -

AUSTRALIAN Wool Innovation continues to develop its online platform, WoolQ Market, despite there being no apparent market failure.

And it has accused online trading platform AuctionsPlus of not wanting to work with it on the project.

At AWI’s annual general meeting last week WoolProducers Australia president Ed Storey said he was concerned with the development of the platform, which was born out of a 2014 review.

He was concerned with the message that a levy-paying organisation was competing in the marketplace with an existing platform. He said AuctionsPlus was a viable option with viable wool volumes trading.

“I’m not sure of the area of market failure the development is addressing.”
