AIMED AT THE enthusiast, the Lumix DMC-G7 features a 16MP sensor, 4K video shooting and a very intuitive app that works hand-inhand with the built-in wireless capabiliti­es.

The lightweigh­t DSLR-type body includes dials and buttons for easy access to the most important features of the camera, such as the aperture, shutter speed, ISO and manual and auto focus. It also features a fully-articulate­d touchscree­n LCD and large electronic viewfinder.

4K Photo mode, which was featured on earlier Panasonic cameras, is a feature that allows you to take a series of photos at 4K resolution (8MP) at 30 fps, much like a video. e camera then allows you to go back to select the image that best captures the moment.

The photo quality straight out of the G7 is quite good, with very usable images right up to ISO 12800. e JPEGs straight out of the camera are sharp. e live photo preview allows you to see what the image will look like before taking it.

4K video is recorded at 25fps, whilst HD video can shoot as fast as 50fps if you want something that little bit smoother. e video quality is very sharp. Whilst you’re unable to set the aperture for video, you’re able to have some degree of control with the ISO and exposure compensati­on.
