LAND SLIDERS
NOM NOM SOCKS.
We’re playing as a squat, white tumble dryer sliding around a oating island in search of blue and red socks that probably belong to Spiderman. e partially fenced extremities of the grassy, procedurally-generated map fall away into a cloud-lined abyss and though it may seem idyllic, this random landscape is far from being a safe-haven. We’re followed by bears, angry bulls, an oblivious turtle wearing a spikey potted-cactus and a formidable T-Rex on a pogo stick, all of which will send us to white-goods-heaven if we let ‘em. is chaotic setting is the island bedrock of Land Sliders, the rst game to be pushed out of new Aussie indie studio Prettygreat. Prettygreat was founded by two former Hal rick employees who have the likes of Crossy Road, Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride under their belts, so it’s not really that surprising that Land Sliders turned out as good (and as odd) as it has. And yes Land Sliders may look like a simple-enough high-score leaderboard chase, but the learning-curve is steep and there’s an interesting array of unique worlds and unexpected elements that make for a novel and enjoyable experience.
