MICROSOFT HAS OFFICIALLY stepped into the laptop manufactur­ing game with its newest entry in the Surface lineup, the Surface Book. More than just a laptop, this 2-in-1 has a remarkable fulcrum hinge made from exible aluminium that gives the unit a solid laptop feel, but also allows the screen to ip all the way over into a convertibl­e-style setup. You can also detach the screen entirely and use it like a regular Surface tablet.

Microso boasts that its keyboard provides a “perfect typing experience”, with keys that allow for almost completely silent typing and a have deep travel distance of 1.6 mm. It’s also got a slick glass trackpad.

Specs wise, the Surface Book sports a 12-hour battery, a 13.5-inch, 267 ppi display, and will be available with either a 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. An optional discrete GPU with GDDR5 memory will also be available. e Surface Book is on sale from November 12, with prices starting at $2,299.
