Google Assistant can now help set up your Woolies shopping list and talk to NAB

GET YOUR BANKING AND SHOPPING LISTS ORGANISED.

THE ‘ACTIONS ON Google’ platform — which allows third-party apps to connect to Google Assistant — is still quite new in Australia, but Woolworths is the first supermarket to jump on board and integrated their app with Assistant. Now shoppers can ‘talk to Woolies’ to set up a shopping list, or add items to a basket. To do that, open the Google Home app, jump to Explore and find Woolworths. You will be prompted to link your Woolies account to Google Assistant and then you’re all set to use Woolworths Actions. Just make sure that, when adding items to your list, you’re being as specific as you can. Asking for something generic, like butter, can lead to a long drawn out conversation you may not want to have with a digital assistant.

Organising groceries isn’t the only thing Google Assistant can help with. If you’re an NAB customer, you can find the bank’s app on Google Home and ‘Talk to NAB’. Customers can get information on lost cards, opening accounts, branch details and travel cards. In the same vein, Domain has also been integrated with Assistant, in case you’re looking to buy or rent property.
