DEVELOPER USES NEW ANDROID VR PLATFORM TO BRIDGE 6-DEGREE MOVEMENT
One of the fundamental distinctions between smartphone VR and PC-connected setups was that the latter included horizontal and vertical movement tracking in a confined space. This is called 6 degrees of freedom, and though it’s only been available using external sensors until now, FusedVR has developed a workaround using the Google ARCore mixed reality platform for smartphones, a Gear VR headset and a Samsung Galaxy S8.
