DUTCH POLICE USE AR GAME TO FIND STOLEN VEHICLES

The Dutch police force are looking down some unusual avenues to extend the reach of the law across the country. Enlisting the help of the public, it’s currently working on a smartphone AR game called Automon where players earn points for snapping the number plates of cars with their smartphone camera. Netherlands’ National Police Chief Erik Akerboom told the local Telegraph that the exercise will help the police locate stolen vehicles, whilst simultaneously being an entertaining ‘detective’ game.
