If you’re a Spotify user and like to share your latest discoveries and curated playlists with your friends, JQBX is a neat way to cut out the middleman. Technically a web app (also available for Mac, iOS and Android), you’ll need to sign in with your Spotify account in order to use the platform. Once you’re in, you’re free to join your friends’ room if you have the password, try a public room if you don’t, or create your own if you want to set the scene yourself. The main point of JQBX is to be able to sync your listening with your friends, with room inhabitants able to chat and rate music as you go. In one of these aforementioned rooms, there’s a DJ responsible for selecting the current song and queuing the next until the role is passed onto the next user in the DJ queue. Due to the app’s integration with Spotify itself, you’re able to instantly add or favourite tracks on your account and even export the room’s track history to a playlist for later listening.
